General Membership Meeting: Speaker: Barbara Venuto and John Weber. "Litter, the Good, Bad, and Ugly". Location: Melbourne Beach Community Center.
Barbara Venuto is Environmental Programs Coordinator. She coordinates the Great American Cleanup (Trash Bash, St Johns River) Group cleanups, Adopt-A-Road & Shore Programs, Litter Hotline, Litter Index, Xeriscape Beautification Grants, and compiles monthly reports.She will speak about some of the community cleanups results and overall data seen.
John Weber is Beach Program Coordinator. He administers the Criminal CAS Community Service Beach Cleanup Program. He is the Volunteer Coordinator and Coordinator for Student Community Service. Mr. Weber is on the beach almost every day, picking up and cleaning up. He will tell you tales of his finds. For example, he takes off the tops of beach umbrellas to make round tablecloths. He cleans towels and clothes he finds and donates them to the Humane Society. He cuts off leashes from broken boogie boards and reuses in the workshop.
