An update on Jack and Apollo

Hello again!

It looks like Jack has chosen the Boca Grande Channel side of the Marquesas to settle, at least for now. He has remained in that area since our update last week. We’ve had other turtles forge in this area, so there must be good habitat there. The water is usually not clear enough there to see the bottom, but we counted some turtles there in March when Inwater Research conducted our green turtle transect in the Keys.

Apollo has continued down the Keys from his last location just south of Elliot Key on Friday, July 12. He is now off Marathon and appears to still be migrating. We’ll know for sure at our next update.
