Jack and Apollo find their spots

Jack, a male green sea turtle outfitted with a satellite transmitter, has settled for now in the Boca Grande Channel to forage.

Hi all!

It looks like both of our boys have found their foraging spots.

Jack continues to forage on the southeast corner of the Marquesas, in the Boca Grande Channel, roughly 32 kilometers west of Key West.

Apollo has found a spot he likes, 8 kilometers south-southeast of Boca Chica Key, which just happens to be the home of the U.S. Navy base and military airport, so he is keeping to his “space” legacy. We often see the Navy jets flying when we’re working down there, practicing their maneuvers. It seems that Apollo has an affinity for aircraft….
