Our 2025 Volunteers of the Year – Charlotte and Dennis Lawyer

Congratulations Charlotte and Dennis!
At the STPS Volunteer Appreciation Dinner last Saturday, Co-Chair and Transport Permit Holder Ken Smith presented the 2025 Volunteers of the Year awards to Charlotte and Dennis Lawyer for their outstanding service and dedication to STPS. Last year, the Lawyers participated in 12 Nesting Surveys, multiple community events, fundraisers, and completed several transports. On two of their longer trips, they transported hundreds of rehabbed wash-backs to Palm Beach County for release. Learn more about these transports in the following STPS blog articles:

The Lawyers joined STPS in 2021 after moving to Cocoa Beach from Pennsylvania. Dennis really enjoys transports because he’s “directly helping sea turtles.” Charlotte loves educating people at events. “There are lots of simple things that people can do that can really make a difference,” she says.
