Beach Clean Up

Beach Clean Up

STPS has adopted Coconut Point Park in Melbourne Beach and Cherie Down Park and Beach in Cape Canaveral, as part of the Keep Brevard Beautiful Adopt-a-Shore project.

Volunteers pick up litter on the first Saturday after the first Thursday of each month starting at 9 am and usually finishing by 11 am.

Materials for cleanup activities are provided, including trash bags, gloves, sunscreen, and tools.  Cleanup participants should bring water to take on the beach.

Student community service hours available.  Bring paperwork to be signed by STPS staff to document participation.  Students are not supervised on the beach by STPS staff.  Signing of student log sheets by STPS staff is only done at in-person cleanups.  This is available to students/adult students or members of workplace groups.  All requests for community service hours related to legal issues should be referred to Keep Brevard Beautiful which has a special program (321-631-0501).

Also, active STPS volunteers may participate in beach cleanups on their own at a time and location of their choice and record their hours in the VIC system.
