VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Silvia Bryan
By Megan Maynard

Silvia Bryan, who comes to Florida from Madrid, Spain, is our November 2019 Spotlight Volunteer. She has been a Florida native since moving here in her early 20s. Her professional background is in business, but her true passion lies in painting, astrology, philosophy and gardening.
For the past three years, she has been an active STPS volunteer after reading an announcement at the Cocoa Beach Library. She is excited and optimistic about her new role this year on the Turtle Krawl Committee. Silvia is also involved with night walks, nesting surveys, assisting at events, and helping at the Port kiosk.
Silvia has loved every endeavor with STPS and the volunteers she has met. She is simply amazed by all of the passion and dedication for sea turtles. Living by the motto “Love what you do and do what you love,” her work is not an effort but rather “enthusiasm and enjoyment for what she does.”
Silvia suggests attending Turtle Talk 101 to learn about these amazing creatures who, as she says, are easy to fall in love with. She finds there are so many opportunities available if you are interested; the Turtle House, the Port kiosk, and the website, seaturtlespacecoast.org, are great resources to start.
